Captivity Meme

You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.

Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.

1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.

2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9. The second character is holding the first character captive now.

3. ???

4. Profit!

1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.

2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.

3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.

4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.

5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.

6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.

7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're your property, and you decide their fate.

8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.

9. Choose a scenario, or combine several.

It was hard to hide the smirk. Then again, why fucking bother? Tin Man here had been a pain in Mattox's ass since China. And oh, he hadn't forgotten that smirk back in the warehouse after that last test. Yeah, well, he'd had his fun, and now? Uh oh, it looked like it was Mattox's turn.

"Hey, bucket boy." It was not a particularly gentle kick to the side, but the RC-2000 had been mollycoddled enough by others. Enough of that shit. "You gonna sleep through all the fun?"

The last thing he registered before Mattox shot him was Jack a few feet away, his ex-partner slumped with his hand glistening with blood. The HUD tried to scream a proximity warning, muzzle-fire flashed white -

Alex Murphy went down like a sack of graphene bricks. The rifle shot didn't send him sprawling back like it would've if he was flesh and blood and he had a squishy torso - instead blue light pulsed over his chassis in a sparking web and Alex simply dropped like a puppet with its strings cut, his legs buckling. The thud echoed off the walls, loud enough to reverberate through the floor.

It took a few minutes for Alex to regain consciousness, his eyes still frozen up staring at nothing as Mattox approached. The kick wasn't enough to roll him over - he was too heavy, and Mattox was a small guy to begin with - Alex's eyes fluttering before he remembered to blink. There was that unfocused look that said his systems were trying to finish rebooting, his eyes trying to resolve Mattox's blur into a human face. The HUD couldn't even track his face properly, the reticule sliding off his eyes and wobbling all over the place.

"You better not have killed him," Alex slurs, his voice crackling with an electronic buzz.

Oh, and for that one brief moment Mattox wished he had some sort of record function, so he could put that on loop, RoboCop falling, over and over again, like a big hog hit with a sledgehammer. Fuckin' beautiful.

"Yeah? Or what?" Mattox smirked. "What'd you do to me if I did, huh?"

Alex pictured reaching up and disarming Mattox, literally, and was rewarded with the sound of tortured servos whining, unable to do something as basic as move his arm up and several degrees to the right. His face crumpled into a scowl as he glared up at Mattox.

"You wouldn't be smiling," Alex gritted his teeth as he struggled to move, to do anything that wasn't lie-there-and-let-Mattox-breathe. He was past of the point of worrying about Miranda rights and procedure. Mattox flat-out shot a cop. He'd find out that was a very, very bad idea.

The sound of clicking filled the hall as Alex managed to get a knee propped up. At the rate he was moving, he wasn't going anywhere fast.

Oh, and that was the best part, of course. Knowing that the thing probably had a half-dozen solutions to this little problem he was in, but ooops, being incapable of doing any of them. Welcome to Frustration Town, asshole.

"Yeah, you know what, Tin Man?" Mattox stepped over to kick the ankle out from under him. "Leave the sassy talk to the actual humans."

The reason Mattox didn't break his toes was because he was smart - he came to this fight with everything he could to level the playing field between a man and a cyborg and that included steel-tipped combat shoes. Alex's leg thumped back to the floor.

"I'm not just sas - sing," Alex's voice breaks with a harsh crackle of static. "And you know I'm incapable of lying, Mattox."

So what now? You better shoot to offline my life supports, because I'm not forgetting Jack.

I suspect this will not end well for Mattox.

Damn straight he wore steel-toed boots. But the robot better not get all flattered and shit, because Mattox didn't wear 'em just for him. You work around droids, sooner or later one of them fucks up and steps on your foot. Lesson learned.

"Now, I'm not real sure you're qualified to judge, Tin Man." Mattox drawled, shifting the gun from one hand to rest his elbow on his hip. "And I ain't lying about this: Sellars got your wife. How you feel about that, huh? Oh right. Nothing. Fucking machines don't have feelings."

Provided Alex can get back on his feet and not get shot again :P

Alex was a far cry from the "robo-zombie" Pope had been wincing about: his face wasn't that impassive mask with nothing behind those brown eyes, the rage now flashing across his face before he remembers he's broadcasting loud and clear to Mattox.

The loud click-click-click and piercing whine from his arm announced that he'd just tried - and failed - to shoot Mattox. Again.

"Give her back. Now."
arma_uirumque: (pic#)

what are the odds of that I wonder....

[personal profile] arma_uirumque 2014-03-15 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it was kind of cute, really. The whole snarly face thing, almost like the robot actually had feelings. Norton had way too much fucking free time on his hands if he was programming facial expressions now.

Too bad Mattox didn't give a shit about 'cute'.

And he recognized that sound and its complete and utter impotence. Man, this couldn't be better if the damn robot came tied up with a pretty red bow.

"Me?" He gave a showy shrug. "Where you think I've got her? Or your kid? The 'little asshole' doesn't have pockets big enough." Oh, you think he forgot that? Nope.

He crossed over to the other side of the thing's body, foot coming down on the wrist of his intact hand. "Besides, I think a moment like this calls for an 'or else what?', don't you?"

The wrist's plating protested, something creaking underneath the pressure applied by Mattox’s exo-suit. Alex grimaced, his teeth baring, as the heel of Mattox’s boot rolled onto one of the few flesh parts of his body, his hand flinching on its own as if it could claw away. It was a sign of human weakness he wished he didn’t have to show right now, while Mattox was leering down at him and waiting and dragging this out. He’d seen types like him before. Most of them didn’t have Mattox’s salary, though.

“Shut up,” Alex felt his teeth grinding, voice strained as he made an effort not to dart a glance at his right hand. He was already down an arm, the stump still sparking and leaking fluid that he hoped wasn’t, you know, blood. Or whatever. Dennett would know was one of those really out there, out of place thoughts. “You doing this all night? Getting your kicks facilitating kidnapping of civilians?”

That look on Mattox face was bad news. It was one of those things his analysis programs couldn’t pin down and where his gut instincts kicked in.

*cracks knuckles* time to get my mean on.

He rocked onto the wrist, then back off, just testing, you know, observing the effect. He's a fucking robot, so Mattox is taking it like stepping on a dog's squeaky toy and listening to the noise.

Because it was another sign of the RC's inferiority: one of his bots? Wouldn't be flailing and whining. He always told Sellars it was a flaw in the system.

He smirked. "Sooner or later I'll get bored, yeah. So, you know, not all night." But he did like to get his payback. With interest.

"Hey, toaster. There's no kidnapping going on. Sellars is trying to protect them. You know. I mean, you really want that little kid to see you all fucked up like this?" Yeah, he didn't believe any of that: Sellars didn't have a 'protective' bone in his body, other than for his own ass, and the incredible robot mime here didn't have any family.

feel free to godmode injuring Alex if you need to, I'll react off it

Alex could feel the blood draining from his face as Mattox ground down on his wrist. Not all night. Nice to know this guy had better things to do, Alex sorry all over again he hadn’t tased the bastard a few more times for good measure. He’d tried to play nice, tried to make friends, back in China. Mattox had it out for him the whole time, from the passive-aggressive Tin Man’s to this toaster thing to calling him everything but his real name. Like he didn’t have one.

His eyes narrowed. “Maybe? Why don’t you let me see them and we can work it out?”

He didn’t believe for a second it would be that easy. Not with that shit-eating smirk plastered on Mattox’s face. Not with the way Mattox wasn’t just offlining him and calling it a day. Alex's eyes darted about the hall as he talked, trying to look for weapons, back-up. Lewis looked like he was barely hanging in there, his skin slick with sweat, his head bowed.
